Memory Haven is a community dedicated to caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. In a nurturing residential environment, our team members provide programs tailored to meet the individual needs of people with dementia and memory loss.

Many of our programs are directed or overseen by a nurse and include routine communication with physicians and health care providers to help offer our residents a comprehensive and well-rounded service plan. With dignity and respect, we work to accommodate our residents’ changing needs, maximize their abilities, promote safety, and encourage their independence and freedom of choice.

We’re located in a quiet residential setting in Sumner, Wash., near parks and close to Main Street. Our community features single-story cottages that simulate a home setting and minimize over-stimulation. Between the cottages is a large, peaceful, gated courtyard with grass, covered patio with BBQ grill, raised garden, walking paths and a life station shed. Our cottage setting elevates us from merely being home-like to being at home.

Known as the “Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World,” Sumner has a lot to offer beyond delicious pie! With local cafés, unique specialty and antique shops, Sumner has a friendly, small-town Americana feel with sweeping views of Mt. Rainier. Partake in the Daffodil Parade in the spring and enjoy summer concerts in the gazebo or cool down at nearby Lake Tapps. Fall is full of pumpkins and scarecrows, while a bridge lighting with caroling and fireworks celebrates the holidays in winter. One thing is certain, Sumner’s hospitability is full of old-fashioned fun.

Just over 12 miles east of Tacoma in Pierce County, Sumner is easily accessible from Hwys 167 and 410. A station for the Sounder commuter train also makes it easy to get to-and-from Sumner.
