In-home care, sometimes referred to as home care or home health care, is care provided to a senior adult by a caregiving professional to assist the senior with the activities of daily living (ADLs). The activities of daily living (ADLs) include bathing, dressing, transferring, toileting, eating, and walking. Additionally, a home caregiver may provide assistance with other daily tasks that allow the senior to remain living independently in his or her home, including housework, meals, medication, grocery shopping, and other errands. Home care is an alternative to senior living communities that allows a senior to remain in their home while receiving the care that they need.
