Harold and Marjorie Johns founded Guardian In Home Services in October 1997 based in their Mercersburg farmhouse. Marjorie had back surgery the prior year and found it difficult to find dependable and caring people to come to her home to assist her with daily needs as she recovered. The family realized there was a need in the community for a reliable in home service provider.

Guardian In Home Services provides caregivers to Fulton, Franklin, Adams, York and Cumberland counties in PA, as well as, Washington and Frederick counties in MD.

“Our Mission is to allow you to stay in the comfort of your home with quality care providers.” Guardian In Home Services offers non-medical in home care for any individual over age 18 that needs extra assistance. This service can be temporary or continual, part time or full time as needed. In home care is an affordable alternative to a nursing home. Long term care insurance will pay for these services.

Level 1- Limited Assistance. This includes assisting the client with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and medication reminders.

Level 2-Dependent Care is the third level of care. This includes total dependent care to the client by a CNA with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and medication reminders

The level of care is determined by our Registered Nurse. The RN will visit the client at home or in the hospital to assess the needs and work with the family to determine the number of hours per day that care providers will be required. The RN will visit and confer with the client and family each month to ensure that the care providers are adequately fulfilling the demand.
