About Greenwood Country Retirement & Rest Home - Greenwood, DE
Country Rest Home is a privately owned and operated facility licensed by the State of Delaware. We are located on 45 beautiful acres in Greenwood, Delaware. The nursing facility was founded in 1954 by Laban and Nanna Swartzentruber and later purchased in 1981 by Mark and Alene Yoder. Mark, Jr. and Polly Yoder bought the business from his father in 2000.
The nursing facility offers 44 semi-private rooms and 12 private rooms. We have a dedicated and caring staff that provide exceptional care to each of our residents. From the beginning it has been our goal to provide good and kind care in a Christian environment. We believe that God has given us a ministry as well as a business. Not every day goes just the way we wished it would, but we have been blessed with many staff that have embraced our "ministry" perspective. We believe that you will find our nursing home to be a "safe" place for your loved one to receive care.
Our Residential Homes are licensed for 3 residents. A staff person is on duty 24 hours a day to provide assistance with bathing, dressing, meal preparation and medication management. Most residents have a private bedroom/bathroom and share a common TV/living room, dining room and kitchen area with the other residents.
Our Retirement Community consists of 35 homes. We have preliminary approval to put in another eight houses, with hopes to begin building later this year, 2009. Houses range in size from 1100 sq. ft. to almost 2000 sq. ft. The life-lease charges vary with size of house and with the different services we provide.
