About Brookside Manor - Hood River, OR
Brookside Manor Assisted Living is part of Providence Senior Village, a campus which border Indian Creek, Columbia Gorge Community College, the Hood River County Adult Center, a sport club and shopping center and nearby restaurants.
We share the 10-acre campus of lawn, gardens and walking paths with Down Manor which provides independent senior living.
We have 17 apartments -- most are studios but five are one bedrooms -- in the assisted living part of our community. Over in the memory care we offer 23 studio apartment split between two wings with a 6-to-1 ratio of residents to care providers.
Our memory care services are alzheimers endorsed by the State of Oregon Department of Human Services.
Brookside Manor opened in the year of 2000, and since that time we have provided care to nearly 250 seniors. Day-to-day, we are licensed to care for 43 people.
We have a staff of 37 which includes medication aides, resident assistants, an activity director, housekeeper, administration, a nurse and the dietary folks.
Our stable staff has a total of 206 working years at Brookside and they have worked in the senior care profession for 354 years. That kind of longevity and experience greatly contributes to the excellent care we provide each day – 24 hours a day.
Our care also extends beyond our live-in residents as we offer what is known as respite daycare each Wednesday for people in various communities of the Gorge. We call our program of respite care the “Sunshine Club.” Respite care allows someone with memory impairment to stay with us during the day and engage in our social activities while his or her regular care provider gets some time to do things for him or herself.
We also offer caregivers throughout the Gorge an Alzheimer Association – endorsed Support Group every 4th Wednesday at the Hood River County Adult Center which is next door to our facility.
